Celebrating the Life of Grandpa Stewart

We were able to drive to Oregon to celebrate Grandpa Stewart's life. I am grateful that I was able to meet him several times and get to know the man that has influenced my husband so much.  We were able to hear so many stories from Grandpa Stewart's life.  He led an incredible life with stories that almost don't seem real!  He was one amazing man!

Daddy's Heart

My daddy had heart surgery.  I love him so much and I am grateful for the doctors who knew what they were doing.

Valentines Day!

Last year we didn't really celebrate our first Valentines because we were driving to our second reception with my parents, pus it is 7 days after our anniversary so we decided to make it quite low key.  Jacob is so so sweet and last year he brought home these red lights and now whenever he surprises me with something he puts them up.  He also got me a few treats, card, and happy things!

One of our favorite walks is on the Provo River Trail.  It was incredibly warm! and Sunny!  I bought us bubble wands for this walk and it was so so fun. Bubble bubbles bubbles bubbles!  They make my heart and soul happy and I become a little girl playing with the bubbles.  We also discovered a wooden swing that swings over the river (almost) and so I of course had to play with the bubbles and swing at the same time!  It was great fun!

We finished off our day of love with take out Olive Garden and Yogurt Land. I love my Valentine!

Our First Anniversary

Yes, it has been a whole year since we have been married!  It was so quick and yet, I don't know what I ever did with out him.  We had a great day full of celebration.  Right when we woke up (well when Jacob woke up) we reminisced, we started out remembering step by step how the day went and how we were feeling.  After that I had prepared a little surprise for Jacob.  We got our breakfast and headed into the living room.  I had hung up our banner of pictures from when we were dating that Audrey made for our wedding, and I had set up the t.v./computer to play our engagement video and wedding video.

Following that we opened presents.  I made Jacob a wood sign that says, "You are my favorite everything".  It is something that we have started saying to each other, I am pretty sure it started out by Jacob telling me,  "You are my favorite", and I would ask, "Favorite what?", his response, "Favorite everything".  He loved it of course, I am going to have to change what I give Jacob though or everything he owns and everything in our house is going to be wood. I think every present he has ever received from me has been something out of wood.....

Jacob surprised me with a book of pictures of our first year of marriage.  It was beautiful.  Jacob told me that he realized how happy he was that I took so many pictures as he was making this book.  It was incredible to see how much we had done, so many adventures in just one year. He did an amazing job.
We had a Kendall family Valentines party to stop by and had a great time as always.  The crazy thing was how warm it was! It is spring time!  Our marriage day and pictures would have been a lot different if the weather would have been like this last year.  Baby Evelyn was at the party (and Matt and Sami, we like them too) and everyone else.  We had pizza for dinner and Fondue for dessert!  YUM!  The Kendalls sure know how to do dessert.  Jacob got to be involved in his first Valentines bingo!  It was fun to be able to spend some time with family and of course get my grandmas (and grandpa made sure to tell me that he helped to decorate this year) famous Valentines cookies which are incredible.  I also don't always mind the drive to Bountiful.  It gives Jacob and I bonding and talking time.
We ended the festivities Scottish style!  Alex, Jacob and I attended the Burns Supper at BYU.  A silent auction of Scottish things, a fully Scottish dinner and entertainment.   The food included haggis of course, which if you didn't know, you have to stand as it comes in marching with a bagpipe player and they read a poem called, An Ode to Haggis.  There were poetry readings, toasts and of course an incredible band that serenaded us with the majestic bagpipes and other instruments.  We had a great time and it was fun to be able to dress up and get into the spirit and culture of things.

It was an incredible day.  I am so grateful for my sweet husband and feel so blessed to have him as well as all of the opportunities we have.  Can't wait to see what our next year hold together!

Our Hiking and Sledding Adventures

We have started a new tradition of hiking up Rock Canyon, which is where Jacob proposed.  The first time we went up this year we didn't realize how slippery and snowy it would be and we knew that next time we came we would have to bring our sleds! It has been so fun to do this every week!
