A Day at the Dairy Farm

Aaron Stoker invited me to go to a Dairy Farm today!  Which actually ended up being one of the funnest, and definitely most educational dates I have been on!  It was really great.  His friend Parker works there and gave us a whole tour and answered all of of questions!

The baby cows are kept here in rows and rows and rows of dog house looking things and they are so cute and adorable.  We petted them and they were so soft!

Yes, I tried milking a cow haha!  It wasn't that successful and I was freaking out but it was funny!

Mission Friends and Mongolian Food

Tierrre Sanford, Spencer Kelly, Jacob Stewart, Me, James Bounous (Kayla Smith taking pic)
This was so legit!  You just a bowl and start dumping veggies and meat and noodles all how you want and then mix up your own sauce and they cook it up for you!  Rule is that it can only be four inches above the bowl! You would be surprised how easy it is to fill them up. It was really delicious! I love being with my mission family. We can just talk for hours with out even realizing it.

Breakfast Pizza

Yes it might sound strange but it's true.  We went to Slab Pizza and I got breakfast pizza and it was so so so so GOOD!!!  Egg, Sausage, peppers, potatoes and bacon :)

The Land of Logan

On our Monday day off Jake, mom, and I decided to make the drive up to Logan to visit Sami and Matt.  They have decorated their house so cute and they are just so great, such an awesome little married couple.

We took them out to breakfast which was delicious!  Breakfast food is the best. Then we just chilled with Sami and went shopping...Maurices is definitely my favorite store to shop at at the moment. I can't go into the store with out buying something! Strangely enough Sami and I have begun to buy matching things again which is odd because for awhile our styles have been very different. Haha it's kinda embarrassing for twins to pick up the same sweater and try it on and buy it :) it's so great.

Jake, Sami, and I. Haha yes our hang out place is the floor of her bathroom!  She says it is the place that she spends time in because it is the warmest in the house, she was right, I was freezing until I sat next to the vent in the bathroom :P

Sami MADE this! She so cool!  It's incredibly beautiful and intricate! Look at Sami being all domestic and developing talents and everything.

Crazy Bones

Our poor silly dog stays wet for hours after she has a bath and she doesn't like it at all and she goes a little bit crazy!

This is Bones rubbing her face and ears all around her bed in order to get the water off haha!

I know the video is sideways, and i don't know how to change it but it is so funny! haha she just started freaking out!  Haha!

Kendall Valentines Day Party

BINGO-is a must. Always loud and crazy with treats for prizes and $50 on the line for black out!

Sugar Cookies- homemade by grandma herself. Arguably the best in the world.

Ice cream/rice crispies/coconut/raspberry dessert!! Mmmmg

This is what happens in our family. Everyone chooses a spot and we sit and talk.  In the living room, the kitchen, hallway, where ever!  It doesn't matter, as long as we have somewhere to talk.  Today's conversation centered on planning our Disneyland trip!!

The most important part of a Kendall party is the dessert!  There has to be at least 3 different kinds and then you just stand around picking at it until it's gone :)  today: sugar cookies, chocolate cake, ice cream/rice crispy treats!

Home

What is worse than being sick? Being sick with out someone to take care of you.  SO I went home and it has been great.  My mom taking care of me, a nice comfy mattress, and all the best food that you need when you are sick.
Ramen Noodles
Cream of Wheat
Borsh!  My mom is the best!

It also means that I get to hang out with Jake!  He is such a stud!

He loves this dog so so much!  Kinda adorable isn't it?

Jake got these LEGIT  headphones for Christmas and I love listening to them.  You feel as though you are at the concert of whatever artist is playing. So...he let me where them and I had my own little dance party with myself,  then it was his turn haha it was funny!

Sunday Cooking with Mckell

Kell and I have started a tradition of making food together on Sundays. We browse Pinterest and see what looks the most delicious and then compare that to what we have in our kitchen and start improvising!  Not to brag or anything, but our creations turn out good! The ingredients that Kell and I make typically have a base of chicken, avocado and cheese. Today was breaded chicken topped with a red sauce, avocado and cheese! Mmmmgg.....

Monsters and Heroes

"We could be heroes".  Chris Tellington and I went to the Super Hero exhibit at BYU. The actual exhibit, not gonna lie wasn't my favorite(although I did like the window washer and the construction worker). BUT I LOVED the idea, and the quotes that were written about the exhibit and monsters and heroes.  The heroes and monsters that we create seem to be a reflection of ourselves. Who we are, who we don't want to be, and who we want to be. There are some good messages in these quotes if you take the time to read them.

"Our heroes have come to reflect our own journey and how we navigate the challenges of our modern world."

"Sometimes monsters are just misunderstood, but they can also represent the worst of human desires and action."

Lucky Charms

They really are magically delicious! Basically ate this whole box in a week! But it was a great way to start everyday and add a little magic to my mornings.

Missionary Service

I of course was supposed to be doing homework but I found this and couldn't tear myself away. I had to watch all 14 minutes of it. I didn't cry when I opened up my own call but as I watched these Elders and Sisters open up their calls I could't keep the tears from coming.  Possibly because I now know what it is like to be a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It will change their lives and they will help change the lives of many others as they help them come unto Christ.  How incredible it is to be a personal representative of our Savior Jesus Christ.

A Human Condition of Sorts

Notice how children choose something to hold onto, a blanket, a stuffed animal or a toy. There is also a tendency to choose a favorite piece of clothing to wear every day. Here are a few of my favorite examples:

Batman!  Or better known as my little brother Jake. Haha How adorable is this right?  He insisted on wearing this everyday even in the heat of the summer and hiking up Angel's Landing in Zion's National Park.
His innate desire to be a hero?  It made him feel strong and invincible?

Audrey!  She is just as pretty now as she was back then. She loved this dress so so much.
Did she feel like a princess?  Help her feel beautiful? What was the draw?

The grown up way. I am not complete with out these 4 things in my day, which ironically are all pretty recent additions to my life. If one is missing, I feel lost as if something is not right. An outfit is not complete with out them all (and of course a pair of very loud earrings).

Leather Boots: I love the feel and smell of the real leather and the weaved leather strands up the sides...
Hand warmers: belonged to Audrey before she moved to San Diego
Necklace: My Tiffany's bird necklace which also has a great back ground story
Perfume: I love this new smell. I love the aura it leaves around me.

What is it about this need for consistency?  Is it for comfort? Or just habit?  Or is it a factor of keeping, or possibly, making one's identity?

Regarding Fathers

I love this clip. I am so thankful to my dad here on earth and especially grateful for my loving Father in Heaven. This message helped me to look at what I have, and to realize how much both of my fathers have given to me and how much they love me. Thank you!

Jazz Game

Epic Jazz Game Last night!  Loved it! Thanks Joe!

Some thoughts from a rookie Jazz fan
-This is a very interesting and unique place for me to be. There is excitement in the air! You can just feel it and practically cut through it. The energy seeps into you and you can't help but feel like you are one of the players and it's all on the line, every move counts.

-Strange thing about it- I saw 3 men's restrooms before I saw even one women's!  All of the men's had lines for them and I just walked right into the women's. haha Joe said "Welcome to man territory". Haha!

-About Jimmer:  He totally got more reaction out of ANYTHING and ANYONE in the whole game.  He touched the ball and noise just exploded out of every corner!  Half the crowed was cheering and half the crown was booing!  They even sold Jimmer's jersey along with all of the Jazz paraphernalia.  Joe kept forgetting which team he was cheering for haha!  Jimmer shirt and Jazz hat :)

This is the jersey that I was wearing! I felt pretty legit (except they changed their colors so I felt like I was cheering for the other team). Joe and I of course forgot about taking a picture...lame...

I am thankful for situations, people, books, thoughts, feelings, and moments that force me to do some soul searching, that encourage me to take a step back, look at myself and evaluate who I am, who I should be, who I want to be, and who I need to be. It's hard and sometimes painful, but also incredible.

A Sunday Afternoon Alone

Here Comes the Son

In high school, I remember a great seminary teacher who told a story relating the Beatles' song, "Here Comes the Sun", to the Savior and His atonement for us.   The rising of the sun that lights the world, warms it, allows growth, and brings happiness is like letting the Son into our lives.  Since that day I cannot see a sunrise or hear that song with out thinking of my Savior.

"Oh, we have a dog."

This morning I woke up, went down stairs and Bones came running to me and I said, "Oh we have a dog".  It is a very strange thing how fast she has become part of our family.

A few things concerning the dog:
1. She LOVES my mom.  Which my mom loves her but it stresses her out JUST a little bit that she has to be within sight and sound of my mom and sometimes even within a two foot range.
2.  She likes to know where everyone is and know what they are doing.  If Jake is downstairs she has to travel back and forth and sniff everyone to make sure they are OK.
3. She doesn't try to eat our food, she doesn't lick,  I have only heard her bark once, and she doesn't get on the furniture.
4. Mom, dad, and I were sitting on the kitchen floor petting her and one would stop and she would look at you, whine or poke you as if to say that only 2 people petting her wasn't sufficient!  Haha she likes attention.

At the moment she is a sad puppy cause she just had surgery.  This morning we could tell she was in pain but she wouldn't eat her medicine.  We were thinking of all the things that we could do to trick her:  put it in her food...didn't work; we wrapped it in ham...too smart for that she just at the ham off of it;  put it in peanut butter?...haha it worked!  She loved it!  it was pretty cute watching her mouth get all stuck together.
