Kendall Camp!

The traditions of Kendall Camp have continued from since I was a kid but have also changed quite drastically.  Kendall camp out used to be exactly that, a camp out, what I remember most clearly are the camps at Sunset Campground I think...or maybe Sunrise campground?  Well anyways I think it runs in the family for the women to not be able to sleep in because I remember waking up early the crisp mountain air and slowly unzipping the tent zipper (which is one of the best camping noises) and accompanying my grandma on a walk to an overlook to watch as the sun rose.  We then returned to the camp to find Karen sitting by the fire preparing mugs of hot cocoa. This may possibly have happened only once or a hand full of times, but it is one of the best memories I have of Kendall Camp outs.

Anyways, back to the traditions, they consist of homemade matching shirts, coloring in coloring books, both adults and children participate, playing games, jump roping and double dutch, s'mores, and lots and lots of food including scones and homemade root beer!  The camp out has turned into our Kendall Canyon Day. It's so fun to be with everyone to just relax and enjoy each other's company in the fresh mountain air!  This year though we had a nice little surprise of rain haha but it was fun hiding under our umbrellas and watching the boys hang tarps from the trees!  I love you all Kendall family!  We missed those who weren't able to make it!
Sami found some of the little green inch worms that we used to collect and she enjoyed showing them to the kids and watching them inch their way around!

Kate's Bridal Shower

So instead of doing a normal shower,  we had a pool party for Kate!  It was so much fun to see everyone and to just have a good time talking, eating and swimming!  The Gardner's were nice enough to let us use their home and their pool!  It felt just like high school....except most are either married or getting married and there were only girls at the party...but still!

Sami got this great idea from pinterest to make wedding cake cookies for the shower. They were super cute and super fun to make.  I convinced Sami to let me do the piping on some of the cookies because I wanted to be like Cake Boss.  I felt JUST like him!  Except for he probably would kick me off of the show for the crookedness of the piping.  I love Sami so so much!  She can make me laugh harder than anyone! I'm happy she came to help me with the shower and brought her cake cookie idea for us to do together!

Happy Wedding planning Kate! Thanks for getting married so we can all have an excuse to get together!

Jake and His Hand

The Fourth of July Holiday!

Last week for the week of the Fourth of July I didn't have work or my internship for the whole week!  Basically that means that I did whatever I wanted.  Just played mostly...and was a little bit lazy.  Jacob and I went to Hobby Lobby,  on walks, made food, ate cake and ice cream (it was his birthday), to the nickelcade.

As for the 4th of July celebrations, on the third Jacob and I went with my family to see Despicable Me 2!  SO FUNNY!  I love the little minions!  We also kept on the tradition with Sami and Matt to eat at the Mandarin!  Mmmmmmg good!  And off to the fireworks at Eaglewood with Kate and Kye and Whitney and Jarom (good thing I have a boyfriend to keep me company with all these married people around ;).  On the fourth I met some of Jacob's family at his grandma’s house and we ate food and played some fun games!  After that the night was full of the Provo Festival thing...and fireworks, strawberry lemonade and the all American movie The Sandlot with Jacob and his brother Alex!  Here are some pictures from the week...

Abby making us some bomb blini! it was her first time and she was pro! They were beautiful!

After we ate, Spencer Tierre and I made 2 beautiful creations with crayons, canvas and a blow dryer!  haha so entertaining!

This is from Elder Lilinquist's wedding, unfortunately I didn't get a good picture but you can see Jacob on Brightwell's shoulders catching the garter! haha they are funny boys!
Yep! This boy here is now 23! Isn't he good looking? His birthday dinner request was german pancakes! ha that was a first for me but I think they turned out pretty well and he taught me the secret of putting lemon juice on them!  Who knew? We had a bunch of mission friends over and had fun-fetti cake and Tilamook ice cream.  We also got to skype with the Webbs in Washington which was SOO much fun!

I introduced these two to Pinterest!  Shhhhh...don't tell! They don't want anyone to know! ;) haha they are so great!
Jacob at the nickel arcade!  haha Yay!  it's one of our new favorite places.
Waiting for the fireworks at Eaglewood.  The show was super long and really great!  Fireworks are so cool!
